Dear expert recipient,
We cordially invite you to share your expertise in our study – a survey using a novel compact assessment tool to systematically map the outputs of Health in All Policies (HiAP) related / intersectoral work across an international sample of countries. The following link will take you to the survey: https://ww3.unipark.de/uc/HIAP-survey/
Participation takes 20-25 minutes. We should be delighted if you contribute towards our research on creating an international map of Health in All Policies related outputs. Please also consider forwarding this email to colleagues / partners in your network if you think that they might be relevant to our study.
Thank you so much in advance!
With our very best wishes,
Dr. James Timmis (Principal Investigator, University of Freiburg)
Dr. Margaret Douglas (Public Health Scotland)
Prof. Dr. Christoph Strünck (University of Siegen)
Prof. Dr. Uwe Wagschal (University of Freiburg)

Background
Why are we running this study?
Many individual case studies exist detailing HiAP activities in different settings. However, documentation is incomplete and a systematically elicited overview of HiAP progress on outputs across an international sample is lacking.
What is the study's aim?
The aim of our study is to create an international map of HiAP related outputs / considerations, so, what has happened or is happening and what is the (specific) focus in various policy areas / sectors, at the national, regional and local levels.
How are we approaching this?
We have developed a compact systematic assessment tool that links HiAP-related development project and policy recommendations / changes to (i) specific policy areas / sectors, (ii) social determinants of health, and (iii) target populations. We also ask some high-level questions on ancillary considerations and activities to better classify the answers. Almost all questions are multiple choice and can be answered in a tick-the-box fashion.
Who are our collaboration partners?
We have partnered with a range of esteemed and authoritative experts and institutions in the field across more than 25 countries in order to circulate the survey as widely as possible. All of our collaboration partners can be found on the introduction page of the survey.
What are central technical aspects?
All data collected in this survey will be handled confidentially and your anonymous responses will not be back-traceable to you. The survey takes 20-25 minutes to complete. You can respond until end of January 2026. This study has been reviewed by the University of Siegen's Institutional Review Board (rapid review) which determined that there exists no ethical risk.
